In addition to daily speech and language therapy, children in the ECSL follow the Northern Ireland Curriculum at a level and pace appropriate to their own individual needs. They do this following a specialised language teaching approach which relies on regular detailed assessment and ongoing evaluation by the teacher, Speech and Language Therapist and the Educational Psychologist. Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists can also be accessed in outlying clinics as part of the team available to support the children.
There are currently two Education Centres for Speech and Language within SELB located in Carrick Primary School , Lurgan and St. Patrick’s Primary School, Dungannon. Further information on ECSL provision may be obtained by contacting the Principals of these schools.
