Payroll

A team of 28 officers aim to pay all categories of the Regions non-teaching employees, correctly and at the proper time, for the work done as notified to the Section, according to the conditions of employment and statutory regulations in place at that point in time. All payments are made electronically to employees bank accounts using BACS.


The Payroll section is divided into 4 teams as follows:

Team 1

Staff in this team deal with payments (monthly and 4 weekly) to employees both permanent and temporary, full-time and part-time based in schools, outcentres, youth clubs and headquarters:                         

  • Clerical/Administrative staff
  • Classroom/Nursery Assistant
  • Music Tutors
  • Psychologists
  • Seconded Teachers
  • Advisers
  • General Assistants
  • Building Supervisors
  • Extended School Staff
  • Technicians
  • Youth Workers
  • Invigilators
  • Supervisory Assistants 
  • School Crossing Patrol
  • Cleaners


Team 2 

Staff in this team deal with lunar payments (4 weekly) to part-time and full-time staff both permanent and temporary based in schools, outcentres and headquarters:                          

  • Building Supervisors 
  • General Assistants
  • Cleaners 
  • Music Tutors
  • Clerical / Administrative Staff 
  • Technicians
  • Classroom / Nursery Assistants 
  • School Crossing Patrol
  • Catering Staff in Outcentres 
  • Extended Schools Staff
  • Supervisory Assistants 
  • Security people
  • Study Supervisors
  • Invigilators
  • Youth Workers 


Team 3

Staff in this team deal with lunar payments (4 weekly) to part-time and full-time staff both permanent and temporary based in school meals service, schools and outcentres.

SERVICES & INFORMATION

The Southern Education and Library Board (the ‘Board’) was established as part of Local Government reorganisation in 1973 and is the largest of the five area Boards. The Board's principle functions are the provision of education and youth services to the District Council areas of Armagh, Banbridge, Cookstown, Craigavon, Dungannon & South Tyrone and Newry & Mourne. It spans 1,450 square miles with a total population of approximately 390,300 including 75,767 pupils.
