SEPU strives to provide an efficient and effective purchasing service to schools, colleges and other establishments within the Board’s remit.

Customer Services

Chief amongst SEPU’s array of services is the provision of sourcing information compiled as a result of public tendering exercises. Schools will have a SEPU Catalogue which contains information on a large range of goods and services of a high quality but at competitive prices. This information is supplemented by a monthly up-date service. Other customers will receive individual contract schedules relevant to their needs.

The SEPU Catalogue contains details of the units other services which include an ordering service, a collection and disposal service for unwanted furniture and equipment, and an advisory and support service on all aspects of purchasing.

Tenders

The SELB Procurement Unit administers a wide variety of contracts most of which are call-offs on a period basis.  There are also joint contracts which cover all five of the Northern Ireland education boards where one of the boards administer the joint contract on behalf of all five boards. The majority of the contracts would be on a joint board basis.
