Free places (ie funded by the Education and Library Board) are available in a range of pre-school centres including:
- nursery schools
- nursery units in primary schools and
- voluntary and private playgroups and day nurseries which are part of the Pre-school Education Expansion Programme (these centres may also offer fee paying places to parents).
Parents should complete a single application form that lists in order of preference those pre-school settings where you would consider sending your child.
You should contact the principal/playgroup leader of the centre in which you are interested in obtaining a place for your child. He/she will give you an information booklet and an application form.
The booklet which is produced on a council basis is also available on request from the
