SELB SCHOOLS INVITED TO SIGN MONGOLIA RALLY CAR
In July 2009, 3 members of SELB staff will set out on a 10,000 mile journey from Monaghan to Mongolia. As part of the Mongol Rally 2009, the team will have 4 weeks to drive across some of the worlds most barren & extremely challenging terrain with roads are almost non-existent and fraught with danger.

To add to this challenge, the team will have no support and will travel in an unsuited, mechanically challenged car worth less than £500 with only the simplest modifications! .

In order to raise funds for the SELB Build a School in Africa campaign, the team are attempting to collect 10,000 handwritten signatures and messages on the body panels of the car in exchange for £1 per signature.

Host a Signing Day

Members of our team will arrange to visit interested schools on a suitable date. Students and staff will be given the chance to chat to the team and sign the car in exchange for £1 in advance of its 10,000 mile journey to its new home in Mongolia.

What is in it for the school?

The SELB Build Africa campaign aims to raise £36,000 which equates to £1,000 for every year of the SELBs’ existence. This money will be used to build a school in Africa as a legacy to the SELB which will no longer exist after 2010. This is an opportunity for interested schools to contribute to this cause and in return the school will be presented with a Certificate to acknowledge their contribution.
