Funding for Southern Area Hospice
On 18 th April pupils at Key Stage 3 EOTAS organised a bag packing event in Tesco’s Lurgan to raise money for the Southern Area Hospice, in memory of Mr Charlie Lavery, a senior teacher at EOTAS who passed away in June last year .
10 pupils and 6 members of staff took part in this event, which ran from 9.30am until 1.15pm. Southern Area Hospice kindly donated tee-shirts to wear on the day and buckets to collect the money in.

Everyone worked really hard, packing bags for the Tesco’s customers, who were extremely generous with their donations. The EOTAS pupils were very well mannered to both the customers and staff of Tesco’s and were in fact praised by the management of Tesco’s for their manners and behaviour.

This was the first bag packing event to be held in the new Tesco store and the management of Tesco’s have said that they would be delighted to invite the pupils of EOTAS back again!

In total £450.47 was raised and Charlie’s wife, Colette attended a presentation ceremony at Lough Road learning Centre where a cheque was presented to Kristen King from the Southern Area Hospice.

The pupils of EOTAS would like to thank the management and staff of Tesco’s for their help in organising this event. Thanks also to their customers for their generous donations.
