Forty Nine schools took part in SELB Christmas Card Competition
Judges in the Southern Education and Library Board (SELB) Christmas Card Competition had the difficult task of choosing from over 1,200 entries in this year’s competition.
SELB Chief Executive Helen McClenaghan has expressed her appreciation to 45 schools from across the Board area which submitted entries.

On Wednesday, December 13, Mrs McClenaghan welcomed winners to Board headquarters in Armagh to receive a £65 prize for themselves, £65 for their schools and a framed copy of the winning entry for the pupils.
An Angel design by Erica Camporese, a pupil of Portadown Integrated Primary School, was chosen for the Board’s card which will be sent to schools and colleges.
A landscape drawing by Stephen Rooney, a pupil of St Columban’s College, Kilkeel was chosen for the card which the SELB Chairperson and Chief Executive will send to chairpersons of education bodies, education-related organisations, district councils and Government Departments.
It was so difficult to select the top two entries that the judges decided to award two commendation prizes each to receive a £30 prize for themselves and £30 for their schools: Chloe Burton, Royal School, Dungannon and Thomas Saxton, Lisanally School, Armagh.
Mrs McClenaghan expressed her appreciation to the principals, teachers and pupils who took up the challenge of the competition.
