Mrs Donnell said: “I am delighted to see these new facilities at Bush Primary School . I wish Mrs McAlister, her colleagues and all the pupils well as they benefit from this enhanced learning environment.”
In the past five years the pupil enrolment numbers at Bush Primary School have substantially increased.
Under the Reinvestment and Reform Initiative, SELB Architects developed a scheme to replace temporary accommodation with three new permanent classrooms complete with storage, one new resource area and new associated toilets/cloakrooms accommodation.
The scheme also included the refurbishment of the existing accommodation to provide a new principal’s office, refurbishing the three existing classrooms and a refurbished resource area. The existing entrance was upgraded to meet current regulations regarding access for people with disabilities.
The main contractor for the scheme was Bradley Construction, Omagh.
Following the removal of the temporary classrooms, the SELB has also provided new car parking facilities.
