Young People to quiz politicians
Young people from the Southern Education and Library Board area will have a chance to raise issues which matter to them when they quiz politicians at a ‘Question Time’ in Armagh.
The event will be held in the Marketplace Theatre, Armagh , on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 , and is being organised by the SELB’s Youth Service Community Relations Unit.

Young people from the six districts of the Board’s area - Armagh , Banbridge, Cookstown, Craigavon, Dungannon and South Tyrone and Newry and Mourne - are being invited to attend.

Ulster Television’s Niall Donnelly will be hosting the event which is aimed at young people from 14 years of age upwards.

David McCrory , SELB Community Relations Youth Worker, said: “This is an opportunity for anyone over the age of 14 to come along and put their questions on issues relevant to young people to politicians from five political parties.

“Politicians attending on the night are Mark Durkan MLA representing the SDLP, Councillor Naomi Long MLA representing the Alliance Party, Councillor Paul Berry MLA representing the DUP, Councillor Davy Hyland MLA representing Sinn Fein and Councillor Danny Kennedy MLA representing the UUP.

“The event will begin at 7.15pm . Any schools/youth groups who wish to attend can avail of free transport through the SELB Youth Service Community Relations Unit.”
