| “One member of staff will be redeployed to the general library provision to the public in the Portadown branch and the other staff member will be based in Headquarters.
“Wider availability of information through facilities such as the Internet has contributed to a decline in the use of the Information Service. In the last financial year the service dealt with 142 in-depth information enquiries.
“Requests for information received in the SELB’s branch libraries and mobile libraries will be passed on by staff to the information Service at Library Headquarters. Readers will also be able to make requests directly to the Information Service in Library Headquarters by either telephone (028 3752 0762) or e-mail (informationservice.selb@ni-libraries.net).

The Information Service provides access to books, periodicals, and government publications on topics such as education, business, statistics and legislation. The facility is for everyone in the SELB area.
