SELB launches School Magazine Competition 2004
The Southern Education and Library Board is inviting all schools in its area to enter the School Magazine Competition 2004. The competition has become an annual event attracting entries from right across the Board’s area.
Winners in the most recent competition were invited to Board headquarters in Armagh and were welcomed by Mrs Moira Alexander, SELB chairman, along with Education Committee chairman, Mrs Doreen McBride.

Mrs McBride was among the competition judges who also included Mr Brendan McConville, Education Officer – Nursery and Primary; a local newspaper journalist and a representative of the Board’s Communications Unit.
A prize of £50 was awarded to the winning school in each category with £20 for those in second place.
An SELB spokesperson said: “The magazine competition highlights the excellent work going on in schools and gives pupils the opportunity to display their writing and design skills.
“In the latest competition the standard, as always, was extremely high making the final choice difficult for the judging panel.
“We look forward to the same high standard of entries when schools submit their magazines for the 2004 competition. Magazines and newssheets should be forwarded to SELB Headquarters, 3 Charlemont Place, The Mall, Armagh, BT61 9AX, marked ‘SELB School Magazine Competition’ by Friday, June 11, 2004.”
