Decision deferred on reduced library opening hours proposal.

A spokesperson for the Southern Education and Library Board (SELB) said: "At their meeting on Thursday, November 18, 2004, SELB members agreed to defer a decision on changes to library opening hours in order to have public consultation and discussions with the trade unions.

"Library users, other members of the community and unions will be asked for their views on how limited financial library resources should be spent.
"It is hoped the consultation process with the public will begin early in the new year."
