| John’s
colleagues collected £15,345 at the Quays Shopping Centre
in the week up to Christmas Eve.
An SELB spokesperson said: “Transport Section staff
came from various areas of the Board including Banbridge,
Castlewellan, Kilkeel and Armagh, as well as Newry, to provide
a two hour collecting stint each.
“This is the third year that Transport staff have helped
John and the money raised has increased significantly each
year with £40,000 being collected over the three years.”
John Dalzell said he appreciated the support of his work colleagues
in the fundraising effort.
John said: “I am grateful to senior drivers Felim Lally
and Nigel Stewart for their help in organising collectors
and for all the Transport Section staff who collected. I also
thank the public who have again shown their generosity for
the work of the Southern Area Hospice.”
SELB chief executive Mrs Helen McClenaghan said: “I
congratulate all the Transport Section staff who volunteered
to give up their time to collect money for the Southern Area
Hospice. It is heartening to see so many of John Dalzell’s
colleagues helping him in this charity venture.”

“The money raised will help us to continue providing
Hospice Services to people affected by cancer and other terminal
