“During the five days the children were able to create
stories, develop their own art work and use digital media
to animate characters and backgrounds. This was undertaken
with the help of tutors Lizzie Agnew and Veronica Tate, who
work in the animation and web-based industry.
“The films were developed from the children’s
own drawings. They also had an opportunity to design their
own CD cover. The workshop concluded with the presentation
of the complete film packages by the children to their parents
on the Friday afternoon when the AmmA Centre hosted the movie
premiers.
“We are delighted that the centre has been able to facilitate
these activities and anyone who would like to find out more
about what’s going on in AmmA can check out the amma
centre website.”
The workshop was held from Monday, July 26, to Friday, July
30. Two earlier film and music workshops were held in the
AmmA Centre from Monday, July 5, to Friday, July 9 for young
people aged 14 and over.
Officially opened in June, the AmmA (Armagh multi media Access)
Centre is located in Armagh’s Market House – a
Southern Education and Library Board (SELB) facility.
