The week-long projects finished with a show of the work produced
by the film participants and a concert featuring the two bands
– ‘The Other Band’ and ‘Buxten’,
who developed their skills in music.
A spokesperson for the SELB said: “The ‘Making
Music Workshop’ enabled the young people to develop
their bands under the supervision of professionals, learn
cover tunes and write original music.
“In the film workshop, tuition was offered by professionals
in the areas of camera work, editing and production. Everyone
was given the chance to complete their own short videos and
they had access to the high quality facilities that the AmmA
centre offers.
“The workshops were an enjoyable experience for both
the tutors and the young people, who have been given a taste
of what it would be like to work in the music and film industries.
“A project forged by the SELB, the AmmA Centre is for
schools, individuals and organisations to facilitate creative
engagement with multi-media technologies in film, animation,
music, digital imaging, web and multi-media design combined
with traditional art and music production.
“For further information on AmmA activities or to find

The workshops were held from Monday, July 5, to Friday, July
9.
