SELB Youth Service Celebrates Young peoples achievement
Seventy young people from the Southern Education and Library Board area have received Northern Ireland Open College Network Certificates for their participation on CV/Job Skills and ICT training delivered by the Board's Youth Service.
The certificates were presented at a celebration event in Armagh City Hotel recently. The award evening helped to highlight young people's positive accomplishments and show the incredible strength and determination that young people have.

The award evening helped to highlight young people's positive accomplishments and show the incredible strength and determination that young people have. Funded by YESIP, an implementing body under the EU programme for Peace and Reconciliation, the aims of the programme are to help young people enter the labour market at part-time or full time level, to better equip them to play an active role in the work situation and, where possible, to re-engage them in education. SELB Youth Information Co-ordinator Sarah Muldoon said: “The programme provides an excellent opportunity for young people to challenge barriers that they are commonly faced with in relation to social skills, confidence, decision-making, assertiveness and personal development.” Alongside this training, the programme supports and encourages young people to further enhance their employability skills by supporting and encouraging them to develop and prepare CVs, complete job application forms and develop skills for interviews. For further information on the programme, which is funded until June 2006, contact Alison on (028) 3752 8681.
