Refurbishment for Donaghy Primary School
Donaghey Primary School situated between Cookstown and Dungannon celebrates today the official opening of a new extension. The extension which cost £300,000 comprises of 2 new classrooms, a multi-purpose hall and refurbishment of existing accommodation including classrooms, staff room and office/ reception area. The official ceremony is being carried out by Mrs Rene Turkington, former principal of the school.
The project managed by SELB Architects began in February 2001 and took 34 weeks to complete. The work also included upgrading wheel chair access for the school building and also necessary cabling for the Classroom 2000 project.
 

Helen McClenaghen, SELB Chief Executive on attending the official ceremony to mark the opening of the extension, commented, "Today is an exciting day for all those gathered and I am delighted to join with the children, staff and colleagues in celebrating on this joyous occasion", she added "it is wonderful to see staff and children utilising the new classrooms and multipurpose hall at Donaghey Primary School. The refurbishment adds necessary accommodation for both pupils and staff and I am positive that it will be of great benefit to the school."
