SELB seeks views on service delivery
The Southern Education and Library Board will publish in March 2003 their plans for delivering education, youth and library services for the year ahead and are encouraging members of the public to voice their opinions on the draft corporate plan prior to publication .
“While the SELB is required by legislation to provide services to children, young people and library users, the Board is also responsible for deciding how it can deliver those services to meet the needs of the whole community ”, said Helen McClenaghan, SELB Chief Executive.

“We now invite the public to comment on our plans for the coming financial year against a background of our proposals for the three-year period up to March 2006. Your views count.”

Mrs McClenaghan continued, “To enable us to achieve our vision and mission we have identified six corporate objectives which, together with annual Operational Plans, will guide the work of the SELB’s key business areas over the next three years. Comments are especially sought on the six objectives and the content of the Operational Plan 2003/04.”

You can view a copy of the draft plan by logging on to the Board’s web site on www.selb.org under Reports. Alternatively a hard copy can be obtained by contacting 37 512279. The consultative period extends until 10 February 2003.

Responses can be made in writing to the Corporate Development Unit at Board’s Headquarters, 3 Charlemont Place, The Mall, Armagh BT61 9AX; by Fax: 028 3741 5357; by Tel: 028 3751 2279 or e-mail selb.hq@selb.org.

Mrs McClenaghan added, “I would hope as many people as possible will take advantage of the free Internet access for library members now in the majority of local libraries and log on to our website to view the draft plan. Finally, I encourage everyone to give their opinions on these important proposals which affect so many in our community.” .
