Head of Music Services, Eithne Benson is enthusiastic about
the benefits of such a project, she commented, “The
cross border orchestra project presents a new and exciting
opportunity for us to perform with other musicians and to
extend our contact outside Northern Ireland. We have had a
very enjoyable time preparing for this concert and look forward
to further collaboration in the future. The 2 year programme
will include rehearsals and performances on both sides of
the border and we hope to perform at the Waterfront Hall,
Belfast next year.”
The project is supported by the EU Programme for Peace and
Reconciliation, administered by Co-operation Ireland.
