Deadline for applying for Pre-School places
Parents have until the Friday 7 February to put their children’s name forward for a year’s free pre-school education.
Free places are available for children born between 2 July 1999 and 1 July 2000 in all nursery schools and nursery classes in primary schools and some voluntary and private playgroups and nurseries. Details of the centres, which provide free places, are contained in information booklets supplied by the open enrolment or transfer section of local education and library boards.
 

Interested parents should contact the Principal of the school or the centre leaders in which they are interested in obtaining a place for their child and ask for an application form. A separate application form must be submitted to each of the schools or centres that parents are considering sending their children to. If parents wish to send their children to a nursery setting in the district council areas of Armagh, Banbridge, Dungannon & South Tyrone, Cookstown, Craigavon or Newry & Mourne, please contact the Southern Education and Library Board’s pre-school help line on 028 3751 2520 .
