Remote Security Scanning

Your computer has been scanned as part of the Board’s secure network gateway controls. This scan has detected that your PC is not secure and will require updating before it is permitted to join the Board network. This is to ensure that no viruses or undesirable applications (malware) are introduced to the network.

If the scan indicates that your PC lacks anti-virus protection or that your anti-virus software requires updating, please follow the instructions below.

Board PC:

If you are using a Board computer, you must bring it to a Board centre and physically connect it to the Board network in order to update your anti-virus software. Once you have updated to the latest version of Sophos Anti-Virus, your PC will be automatically updated as you connect to the Internet.

NB. Do NOT attempt to install anti-virus software on a Board PC.

Non-Board PC:

If you are using a non-Board PC, you will need to have one of the anti-virus software packages below installed on your PC before you are able to connect securely to the Board network. If one of these software packages is already installed on your PC, then it may be out of date and will require updating.

  • Computer Associates eTrust
  • Computer Associates VET Anti-Virus
  • McAfee Virus Scan
  • Sophos Anti-Virus
  • Symantec Norton Anti-Virus
  • Trend Micro PC-cillin/OfficeScan
  • Zone Alarm Anti-Virus

If you currently have no anti-virus software installed, or if you are using an alternative anti-virus software application, click on the link below for further guidance.
