Buildings and Grounds Maintenance

Range of Services - The Maintenance Section will;

• Provide solutions to buildings and grounds maintenance problems.
• Prepare specifications for buildings/grounds works e.g., roofing, windows, painting, bitmac resurfacing, fencing, concrete repairs, tree maintenance and long term maintenance of sports pitches, and miscellaneous building/grounds repairs.
• Seek tenders/quotations in compliance with the Board’s standing orders and statutory legislation.
• Oversee work, negotiate rates and certify accounts.
• Carry out property condition surveys.
• Provide cost estimates.
• Advise/arbitrate in disputes with contractors.
• Advise on Health and Safety and compliance with Contract (Design and Management) and other regulations as appropriate.
• Engage specialist consultants and monitor progress as required.
• Select and vet contractors in respect of workmanship, insurance and tax exemption.
• Supervise the servicing and supply of fire fighting equipement.
