UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award

On Wednesday 22 October Sperrinview had their Rights Respecting School Assessment and achieved Level 1.

This has involved a whole school approach, since 2012, led by Mr John O'Hare, to learning about the Rights contained in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child [UNCRC]. Pupils and staff worked together to learn about the rights, how they affect us and how to ensure that they are incorporated in all that they do in Sperrinview.

The assessment was carried out by Mrs Vivien Kelly and was very thorough. The report is attached below.

Congratulations to all pupils and staff for their hard work. They are now going to work towards Level 2, with the help of our Governors and parents.

The Southern Education and Library Board (the ‘Board’) was established as part of Local Government reorganisation in 1973 and is the largest of the five area Boards.
