Transition Programme for P7 Pupils

Transition for P7 Pupils News Story Image
Some children are anxious about the change from their familiar primary school to a new post primary school. The Education Authority, Southern region has a transition programme which is offered to all primary schools in their region. The school’s Education Welfare Officer (EWO) goes into primary schools and delivers the programme to P7 pupils. The programme includes, a DVD entitled ‘Moving On Moving Up’ which was made with the assistance of DSD funding and includes the thoughts and advice of pupils in local schools. Pupils are also given an information leaflet and have an opportunity for discussion.
