BUILDING SUPERVISOR (WITH SUPERVISION) JOB REF: S12004
(TEMPORARY COVER)
27.50 hrs per week @ £10.4526 - £11.4637 per hour – NJC Scale pts 22 - 25 (starting on the first point)
Essential Criteria
A minimum of six month's experience in the cleaning of buildings, both inside and out, including the use of electrical cleaning machinery e.g. floor polishing equipment;
A minimum of six months experience of the security of a building including opening and closing, keyholder duties and operating alarm systems;
A minimum of six months experience operating the mechanical and electrical services in buildings;
Previous experience of staff supervision;
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices including COSHH, and safe Manual Handling Operations;
Ability to use initiative and work as part of a team or alone;
Reliable, flexible and able to maintain confidentiality;
Willing to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends as necessary and
Hold a current driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
Minimum of 1 year's experience working as a building supervisor, caretaker or similar role in a medium/large building (defined as: a job whose main roles are, engaging in security (including opening/closing and keyholder duties) and cleaning duties, and operation of mechanical and electrical services in a building);
Experience of monitoring cleaning staff attendance and reporting;
Experience in keeping and maintaining stock records;
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical services such as boiler/heating equipment and monitoring of fuel, electrical and/or water usage;
Basic repair and maintenance skills;
Good interpersonal and communication skills and
Ability to work with the public.
Applicants must possess a valid driving licence and the use of a car or access to a form of transport which will enable the postholder to meet the requirements of the post in full.
