SALARY : NJC Pts 33-36 £26,835 - £28,919 per annum (£14.2957 - £15.4059 per hour) (under review)
HOURS : 36 per week
Essential Criteria
A third level qualification (minimum HNC/D);
A minimum of 3 years' experience in the arts in either education or community and/or voluntary sectors in relation to provision for children and young people;
Practical experience of planning and delivering arts programmes;
Experience of planning, organising and leading training;
Experience of events management;
Experience of managing groups and meetings;
Project management experience which involves a knowledge and experience of finance, evaluation and partnership development;
Specialist knowledge of the arts sector in Northern Ireland and the integration of arts into the formal and non-formal sectors;
Knowledge and understanding of the arts and cultural sector in Northern Ireland particularly in relation to children and young people;
Good knowledge of the Creative Youth Partnership scheme;
Ability to co-ordinate and manage sessions which involve a range of participants and work as part of a team;
Highly developed skills in: oral, written and interpersonal communication; leadership; personal effectiveness i.e. time management, initiative, forward planning; and ICT;
An enthusiasm and belief in the vision and ethos of CYP;
Available to work unsociable hours at evenings and weekends where appropriate; and
Possess a valid driving licence and have use of a car or have access to a form of transport which will enable the postholder to meet the requirements of the post in full.
Desirable Criteria
An honours degree or equivalent qualification in the arts;
Additional qualification in education, community or voluntary arts;
Experience of establishing local and regional networks;
Working knowledge of the CYP scheme;
Knowledge of the Northern Ireland schools' arts curricula and Youth Service curriculum.
It is anticipated that interviews for the CYP Development Officer post will be held on week commencing 26 May 2008
