Classroom Assistant Hours: 10 per week (8.45am – 2.00pm) @ £8.3776 - £8.9658 per hour – NJC Scale pts 14 - 17 (starting on the first point)
Domestic Assistant Hours: 10 per week (8.45am – 2.00pm) @ £6.5589 per hour
Essential Criteria
• NVQ Level II in Children's Care Learning and Development, or equivalent qualification as recognised by the SELB;
• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs in any primary 1-7 class;
• Knowledge and ability to provide support for at least two of the following Special Needs: literacy, numeracy, vision, physical, social skills and ADHD;
• Good communication skills, both written and oral;
• Reliable, patient, sympathetic and able to show empathy and
• Ability to respect confidentiality.
Desirable Criteria
• NVQ Level III in Children's Care Learning and Development, or equivalent qualification as recognised by the SELB;
• A minimum of 6 months' paid experience within the last 2 years of working with children with Special Educational Needs in any primary 1-7 class;
• Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum at primary school level and
• ICT literate.
