CATERING ASSISTANT JOB REF: K12009
HOURS: 22.50 per week (9.50am – 2.50pm daily)
£6.6527 - £7.0266 per hour - NJC Scale pts 6 - 8 (starting on the first point)
(Retainer fee paid during periods of school closure)
Essential Criteria
• High standard of personal hygiene with a clean and tidy appearance;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• The ability to work under pressure and
• The ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
• Trained to the standard of Food Safety Level 2 (Basic Food Hygiene) or equivalent;
• Previous catering experience in a large production kitchen;
• At least 6 months catering experience within the past three years preferably in school meals;
• Knowledge of hygiene procedures;
• Knowledge of Health & Safety;
• Numeracy skills;
• Ability to undertake light cooking duties and
• Ability to work on own initiative.
The Selection Panel reserve the right to enhance the shortlisting criteria in order to facilitate manageable shortlists.
