The Human Resources Branch is part of the Corporate Services Department and is managed by the Head of Human Resources who reports to the Head of Corporate Services and who with the Head of Corporate Services, the 3 other Department Heads and the Chief Executive form the Senior Management Team.

The Branch is structured to deliver human resourcing and personnel services through 4 main sections, each headed by a Human Resources Officer:

· Schools HR Services
· Headquarters HR Services
· Training & Development Services - Staff Development
· Equalities & Welfare Services


 

The purpose of the Branch is to provide HR support, advisory, consultancy and specialist services to the Board, its Senior Management Team, Schools, and Departments including recruitment, selection, deployment, management training and development of staff. The service operates within a broad field of legislative and statutory provision at a provincial, national and European level.

The Branch provides services to the public through the recruitment and selection process as well as through the Equal Opportunities monitoring of employees, job applicants, and appointees, and the overseeing of policy screening and equality impact assessment of SELB policies and procedures.

The Board employs staff across a broad range of employment categories including:
