The functions of the Section are:
to provide advice and training to the Board, Boards of Governors, Principals, Management and Employees in order that the Board may comply with health and safety legislation; and to ensure that security
measures and procedures in place throughout the Board’s estate are effective and give adequate protection to both persons and premises.
The Section provides an advisory service on:

- Risk management
- Emergency planning
