Accessing the Service |
| |
- When a pupil is thought to have Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties schools may access BST& EOTAS at Stage 1/2 and 3 of the Code of Practice.
- At COP 1/2, advice by telephone, consultations and discussion at planned multidisciplinary meetings are encouraged.
- At COP 3 Primary schools should complete an EPS form and forward this to their local Psychology Office. When Post-Primary schools have established there are no additional learning difficulties, referrals are to be made by forwarding an EPS form directly to the Manager of the BST for this service, Ms C Adair.
- When a pupil is absent due to long illness schools are asked to notify the service when a young person is absent or anticipated to be absent from school due to illness for more than 20 days. Individual teaching in the home can be considered as soon as the service receives a medical certificate to evidence this illness.
- When a pupil is expelled BST & EOTAS can also make educational provision for young people who are expelled and unable to access a place in another school or who have moved from another board area and are unable to access a school place.
