The Board provides education and youth services for the people of the Southern part of Northern Ireland. We try to give the best service possible but there may be times when you feel that you have not been dealt with as well as you would wish. Complaints Procedure for Controlled Schools 

The purpose of the School Complaints Procedure is to address concerns raised mainly by parents/guardians. The procedure covers all matters relating to the actions of staff and the application of school procedures, where they affect individual pupils. Click here to download the full procedure.





The Southern Education and Library Board (the ‘Board’) was established as part of Local Government reorganisation in 1973 and is the largest of the five area Boards. The Board's principle functions are the provision of education and youth services to the District Council areas of Armagh, Banbridge, Cookstown, Craigavon, Dungannon & South Tyrone and Newry & Mourne. It spans 1,450 square miles with a total population of approximately 390,300 including 75,767 pupils.
